Long Island Man Died Of Hantavirus

MONTAUK, N.Y. - Health officials have confirmed the death of a Long Island man of a rare, rodent-borne illness. The 35-year-old victim from Montauk died last week.
The state Department of Health said his death appeared to be an isolated case.
The lung infection is caused by a microbe sometimes found in rodent droppings, saliva or urine.
